Amanda Kromhout Centre Director / Nominated Supervisor A huge hello to all the families. I am really excited to be part of the team here at Parklands Drive. My goal is to make your child’s early education experience an enjoyable and enriching one, where we work together to create a safe, happy and fun learning environment. I grew up and studied in the North Island of New Zealand and moved over here to Australia in 2005 with my husband Gavin, we also have a bright and bubbly daughter Alexis. I have a Certificate in Childcare and an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Education, with 13 years experience in the childcare industry. I have always had a genuine love and passion for teaching and caring for children, I enjoy seeing them grow, learn new skill and to see their bright happy faces each day makes me feel really happy and proud to be a part of their lives. Please come and say hi, and if you need anything please don’t hesitate to come and see me.
Kathryn Dwight Assistant Director I have been a part of the Parklands Drive family for over 10 years, first as a parent and then as a co-educator. I have worked in all the rooms over the years with most of my time in the pre-school room. I have a passion for working with children and love watching them achieve their milestones. I love the feeling when I walk in and the children run and greet me in the morning (it makes me feel like a rock star). As well as raising my two beautiful children aged 16 and 14, I have achieved Certificate III in Children’s services. I have been in the childcare industry for 24 years and cannot imagine working anywhere else. Please feel free to pop in and say hi anytime xx
Chandni Kapoor Kindergarten Teacher I am so thrilled to be a part of Parklands Drive team. I have attained Masters in Education and Diploma in Children’s Services. For myself, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of my hopes as an educator is to create a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them. I feel there is a need for compassionate, strong, and dedicated individuals who are excited about working with children. In our competitive society it is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. I am such a person and will always strive to be the best educator that I can be.
Sharon Lee Thompson Lead Educator Kookaburra Room(36 months to 48 months)I have been at Parklands Drive for just over 6 years now and I love it. I am a mum of four beautiful but now grown up children. So, looking after children is second nature to me. I have completed Diploma in Children’s Services. I am a very loving, mature/motherly soul (well I can act like a child sometimes as it rubs on you after working for years with children). I take pride in my work and hope to develop earlier confident start for each child. I think one of the most important things is to make a child feel welcome and loved and secure in the childcare environment. Initial hug and a welcoming smile can always make a child feel better providing a sense of security for an excellent milieu of playful learning at this age group. I am glad to be able to teach as well as be there for your child/children.
Hema Senthilkumar Lead Educator Possums RoomI have a small complete family with two children and a loving husband. I am studying to attain Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I initially joined the Parklands Drive family in 2013 as a volunteer to then become a regular staff in June 2014. Being with children makes me feel warm and loved every day. I encourage and enjoy children bringing new ideas to me, so I can build on their beautiful thoughts and plan an enjoyable filled day enabling them to develop confidence from an early age.
Jessica Goodwin Lead Educator Koala RoomI love working with children. I have a six-year-old daughter, three step children, and a little kitty cat. I am currently studying for Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I started my adventure with this adorable Centre in October 2015. I remain passionate about providing a warm and loving environment for our children where they feel welcomed and develop a strong sense of identity.
